NASCAR at Dover International Speedway

With its 24-degree turns, slick concrete surface and intimidating reputation for tough treatment on both drivers and racecars, Dover International Speedway has more than earned its nickname as the "Monster Mile" since it opened in 1969. The one-mile, high-banked oval hosts two NASCAR tripleheader weekends each year, featuring all three national touring series. The Speedway parking lot is only a mile from the inn.

Dover Days Festival

The annual Dover Days Festival (first weekend in May) is one of Delaware\'s largest and longest-running free events. Each year\'s activities showcase our state\'s history and heritage, as well as highlights from more contemporary times. Featuring a parade, traditional Maypole dancing, vintage automobile rides, games, over 200 craft and food vendors, music, colonial artisans\' village, and historic war re-enactment groups.

Firefly Music Festival
June 18-21, 2020
Firefly Music Festival is a premier music experience set among lush wooded landscapes, featuring renowned headliners and emerging artists. Since its launch in 2012, Firefly has become one of America\'s largest music festivals, attracting up to 90,000 fans per year. The Firefly grounds are approximately 2 miles from the State Street Inn. (Rooms will be available the day after the lineup is released.)

Amish Country Bicycle Tour
September 12, 2020
The bike tour, suited for all ages and abilities, includes 15, 25, 50, 62 and 100-mile loops through the flatlands of Delaware\'s Amish farmlands. Rest stops include the famous "Pie Stop" at an Amish Schoolhouse. Following the tour, cyclists are treated to a catered barbecue meal. The event starts and stops less than a mile from the inn.
